"Where discipline and technology meet"
Welcome to Tbasedmusic!
You are currently in the "T"echnology realm of Tbasedmusic.
Our goal is to facilitate the using of technology in teaching the disciplines of music.
We believe the foundation of musical discipline lies in traditional piano skills. Fingers must be disciplined. Coordination of mind and body must is developed. The mind must learn the techniques or expression. The body must be trained to respond to the ideas of the mind.
There must be a discipline of musical tools. The first is the piano keyboard. The piano keys unlock the door into a virtual music world where all is possible. This portal is the computer. With these tools the minds palette for creativity is endless. Traditional skills married with the computer allow for the expression of self.
From traditional instruments, to orchestras, to ensembles, to electronic instruments, to choirs, to anything, all possibilities exist.
The next step is to learn the tools to document musical expressions through traditional notation and cd recording.
And then, the ultimate conclusion, the introduction of musical expression to fellow musicians in a performance of what began as a thought in the mind.
The path is long; but, step-by-step, disciplines are acquired, mastery is obtained and the ability of self expression allows others to be moved is reached.
Q. What do we teach?
A. We expect those entering the program to have basic musical skills. They include the following:
